Dactah Chando - XXI (Achinech Productions)

The music for the four tracks on this mini-album (supplemented with four dubs) was recorded back in 2018, when Chando decided to use a free moment during a tour in Germany to head down Berlin's Planet Earth Studios, where he surrounded himself with seasoned German reggae musicians like Frank Pollensi (keyboards), Florian Stahl (guitar) and Tobi Nambur (drums), while playing bass himself.

The mix and added dubs are the work of Umberto Echo. The lyrics for the four tracks Chando penned during the first Spanish lockdown and in tracks like 'Somos El Todo' or 'Pase Lo Que Pase', where he aims to uplift the listener, COVID-19 is never far away: 

En este tiempo complicado en el que el hombre esta asustado me mantengo en mi sitio y doy gracias (In this difficult time when many people live in fear, I stay where I am in gratitude)

En este tiempo ta confuso todo parece difuso, meditacion es lo que uso pa' sentir (In this confusing time when everything seems fuzzy, I use meditation to feel)

No Te engañes a ti mismo (Don't blame yourself for anything)
Aunque estas cerca del abismo (Even though it feels like you are standing at the precipice)
Piensa siempra par ti mismo (Keep thinking for yourself)
Mantén bien alto el optimismo (And try to stay as positive as possible)

Mantenerse arriba pase lo que pase (We have to keep ourselves straight no matter what)
Que Ningun viros tu alma traspase (So that no virus can enter your soul)
Eres responsible de todo lo que haces (Be responsible for all your deeds)
Y no permitas que el horror te cambie con la situacion (And don't let the horror of this situation change you)

No permitas que tu vida se arruine (Don't let your life be ruined)
Aunque te quedes en casa y te confinen (Even if you have to stay home and feel confined)
Mantente libre en tu parte interior (Stay free in your inner self)

As for this excellent release, the four closing dubs by Umberto Echo are the icing on the cake!
