Backed by riddim tandem Mafia & Fluxy and a number of close musician friends (among which Carlton 'Bubblers' Ogilvie, Tony 'Ruff Cut' Phillips, Guillaume 'Stepper' Briard and of course Henry's brother, Patrick Tenyue) Matic once again took to the studio. If we add the majority of the tracks on 'Spanish Town Rock' were mixed by good folk like Gussie P and Bitty McLean, you'll realize you can't really go wrong with this album. The majority of the tracks on 'Spanish Town Rock' are reworkings of existing compositions: title track 'Spanish Town Rock' is in fact actually a version of Johnny Clarke's or Earl zero's 'None Shall Escape The Judgement', 'Brunswick Avenue' (again a reference to Spanish Town) is a rendition over Mafia & Fluxy's Paradise riddim and 'Why Oh Why' is, of course, just a re-lick of... Ernest Wilson's 'Why Oh Wy'. Essential listening for anyone with a taste for the trombone. Take it away Matic!
