Twan Tee - Outrospection (Baco Records)

As with his previous albums, Twan Tee once again teamed up with producer Oddy for 'Outrospection', except for 'Toxic Love' and 'Don't Give Up', two tracks produced by Jérémie 'Jeh Jeh' Clergue from Roots Attack, the producer who helped him take his first steps in the music world.

'Introspection' and 'Outrospection', the respective intro and outro of the album (which you likely gathered from the titles), features the voice of Jamaican artist Iya Tundeh. Elsewhere in the track list, you'll find collaborations with up-and-coming Jamaican talents like Konchuz ('Here We Go Again') and Tylinan (heard alongside Konchuz in the militant 'Caan Dun'). But Twan Tee also secured established names like Warrior King, Omar Perry, and Yaadcore.

'Bridges' is a solid new roots track seeing Twan Tee and Warrior King call for building bridges instead of walls. The dubby 'Babylon Walls' featuring Omar Perry also impressed, though we were particularly taken with 'General', Twan Tee's excellent duet with Yaadcore.

Among the solo tracks, the catchy opener 'Put It Pon Replay', the smoothly flowing 'Undercontrol', and the slow, slightly darker 'Underwater' stood out.

A successful blend of reggae, trap, and dancehall, and an artist we'll definitely be keeping an eye on!
