JahYu - Center Of Gravity (Steppas Records)

JahYu is Korean for "freedom", freedom of speech, freedom of spirit, freedom of soul and, of course, freedom of sound; all things that are now being questioned in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In his music, JahYu uses traditional Korean instruments like the gayageum and geomungo (traditional zithers), haegeum (two-stringed violin), daegeum (bamboo flute), yanggeum (family of the cembalo or chopboard) and janggu (hourglass-shaped double-sided drum), creating an instrumental sound that could be described as an Asian version of UK steppers and electronic dub or, why not, Far East 2.0!
