Lutan Fyah - Touch Di Road EP (Oneness Records)

By Jah Rebel

After a series of albums that stayed a bit under the radar, in 2017 Lutan Fyah once again caught our attention with 'Music Never Dies', for which he joined forces with I Grade Records' Laurent 'Tippy I' Alfred, a more than successful effort we even dared describe as a comeback album. With the release of this 8 track 'Touch Di Road' EP on the German Oneness Records label, the singer from Spanish Town maintains the same level.

For the six tracks on 'Touch Di Road', completed with two dub mixes by Umberto Echo who also mixed and mastered the other tracks, Lutan got free range from the Oneness riddim catalogue. We recognized, among others, the Rock Them One By One riddim, which Lutan used for title track 'Touch Di Road'. Other recommendations are energetic opener 'Still A Bless Me', the socio-critical 'Gone Too Far' and the excellent duet with Royal Blu, 'Watch Over Me', immediately our personal favorite on 'Touch Di Road'.
