Various Artists - Open Arms Project: Reggae Can Help!!! (Self-published)

Touched by the fate of the refugees and the rescue operations carried out daily by numerous NGOs on the Mediterranean Sea, Kuko decided he wanted to do his share as well. The result is 'Open Arms Project: Reggae Can Help!!!!', a compilation album for which Kuko managed to mobilize a lot of like-minded reggae artists, with all proceeds going to the NGO Proactiva Open Arms.

For the project Kuko produced two riddims, the appropriately titled Ocean riddim and Open Arms riddim, performed over by the participating artists, hailing from almost every corner of the world, from Spain (apart from Ras Kuko also Emeterians, Lasai & Yeyo Pérez and Little Pepe and Malaka Youth) via Italy (Ras Tewelde and Raphael) to Jamaica (Warrior King, Skarra Mucci, Sumerr and Ras Takura), Chile (Quique Neira), Venezuela (Apache & Mr Dalis) and even the Philippines (Idren Artstrong)! Our personal favorites from the track list are Quique Neira's 'Brilliante', 'Presos Del Mar' by Malaka Youth and Little Pepe, and 'Helping Arms' by Jamaican newcomer Sumerr, but actually that doesn't really matter this time, because take it from us, it's a highly enjoyable compilation, so please follow your heart and support Proactiva Open Arms by buying this album!
