Gregory Isaacs - Gregory Isaacs At African Museum (Tad's Record)

The majority of the songs on this album (the nyahbinghi percussion driven 'Souls Of Ethiopia', 'Took Another Chance', 'Lady Next Door', in which the trumpet sounds of the late Johnny 'Dizzy' Moore can still be heard, and 'Favorite Love', a duet with the somewhat forgotten Johnny P) turn out to be singles that originally appeared on the Stüssy Records/ The Orange Hill Records label.

'Dancing Partner' could be found on 'Revenge', an album from 2004, and later also popped up on 2016's 'In Lovers Rock Style'. 'John Law' was a 12inch (presented here as a duet with Ninjaman, but originally also in combination with Freddie McGregor) Gregory recorded for Gussie Clarke's Anchor Records label in 1991, and 'Barrington' is a reworking of 'Can't Stop Barrington Again', a song Isaacs recorded for King Jammy in 1990, but here given the same riddim as 'Souls Of Ethiopia'. Warning: some tracks sound pretty dated, so this one might be only for diehard Gregory Isaac's fans!
