Mad Professor meets Jah9 - In The Midst Of The Storm (VP Records)

With 'In The Midst Of The Storm', Mad Professor didn't just produce a dub version of Jah9's '9' album, it's also the first collaboration between the Ariwa-chief and the Jamaican singer.

Even though the bulk of the dubs on 'In The Midst Of The Storm' could absolutely convince - with opener 'The I Of The Storm/Selassie I Dub', a version of 'Hardcore' as the absolute highlight of the album, and only 'Strumming Dub' the dub version of 'In The Spirit' sounding just a tad too ethereal - this album will probably mostly appeal to hardcore fans of Jah9 or Mad Professor. The beautiful cover illustration is the work of Richard Natoo, a promising visual artist from Jamaica.
