Black Omolo - Roots N Dub EP (Self-published)

Don't be mistaken though, this is not a classic showcase album with 5 vocal cuts and as many dubs, Omolo rather opted rather to order the tracks neatly according to sub-genre. On the first disc you'll find 5 new roots tracks, but on the second disc the EP switches into a slightly heavier gear for 5 more dub-flavored tunes. In the first category we were most taken with 'Breaking Down Barriers', a combination Omolo recorded with Exile Di Brave and Kazam Davis during her first trip to Jamaica back in 2015, but there's also 'Woman Of Creation', an ode to womanhood and a duet with Warrior King, and for 'My Love', a version over the Consequence riddim, Omolo even goes lovers. Where the last five tracks on the EP were concerned, it were the two ganja tunes that caught our attention: 'Talawah', but even more, closing track 'Steamers', a production by Grenoble based Valentin Michon aka Natural Tribulation. Rock-solid EP with a title guaranteeing its content!
