M.Shadd'y - Niya Moja EP (Self-published)

By Jah Rebel

Accompanied by the Nantes based Soulnation Band, Bandrele, Mayotte born M.Shadd'y presents four brand new tracks together making up this 'Niya Moja' EP.

In addition to M.Shadd'y 'Niya Moja' (Shimaore for "a common will") also features the voices of veteran deejay Joseph Cotton (the excellent opener 'New Day') and Surinamese singjay Patko ('Justice', an indictment of police violence). M.Shadd'y closes with 'Riwa Sayidiye' ("help them!"), a song in which he calls for solidarity with others regardless of skin color, religion or sexual orientation. 'Niya Moja' left us wanting for more, and you?
