iLLBiLLY HiTEC - No Borders EP (Echo Beach)

Contrary to what the band's name might indicate, iLLBiLLY HiTEC aren't an obscure bunch of musicians from the Appalachian Mountains in the US, but a Berlin based collective blending influences from genres like cumbia, hip-hop and drum & bass with dub and reggae.

This 6 track 'No Borders' EP (actually two tracks supplemented with 4 remixes by Dubmatix, Max Powa and Fleck) serves as a preview to the new album of the band that should see the light sometime in October of this year. For the production of the songs on 'No Borders', iLLBiLLY HiTEC called on Canadian dub wizard Dubmatix and for the vocal parts the Berliners invited Kinetical, Promoe, emWan and English veteran Horseman.
