MagaDog - Inna Di Town (Boomrush Productions)

With 'Inna Di Town', this trio from Pescara, a coastal city on the Italian East Coast, is already at its third long player. 'Inna Di Town' opens with 'Dub West', a dub with a bit of a Wild West vibe, but then Don Tino, Pietro Di Domizio and Claudio Bollini resolutely draw the new roots card. With songs like 'Time To Stand Up' and 'Revolution Music', MagaDog share their view on the current world order, and with 'Mandela' they pay homage to the legendary South African leader Nelson Mandela. For 'Babylon Falls', certainly one of the highlights in the track list, MagaDog invited Pedro Nassif, lead-singer with Brazilian band Mahalo. Another topper is 'Ask Me For More', a song which, thanks to the voice of MagaDog backing singer Moreena, is lifted to a higher level. Finally, the track list of 'Inna Di Town' also contains no less than three versions of the Dennis Brown classic 'Should I'. MagaDog recorded the song with their other backing singer, Ela, and left afterwards also had it remixed and dubbed by none other than Scientist!
