Brown, who now spends his days in a New York nursing home, began his musical career as a vocalist; first as half of duos with Lloyd Robinson and Dave Crooks (who'd later gain fame as Dave Barker), and later solo. However, in 1969, Brown discovered his true calling as a producer with Ron Wilson's 'Night Cap' being the first release on his Shalimar label. That being said, these three compilation albums focus on Glen's Pantomine label, were compiled by Chris Lane and already released a first time back in 1989 and 1990. Even though the riddims (Dirty Harry, Opportunity Rock/Midnight In Moscow, One One Cocoa, Slaving, Save Our Nation...) are largely similar on the three albums, the various tracks were neatly divided into three categories: 'Dubble Attack' brings together the best deejay versions that appeared on the Pantomine label, on 'Boat To Progress' you'll find a variety of excellent vocal cuts, and if  after all of that you're still in the mood for more there's 'Check The Winner' full of instrumentals. Excellent overview of the output of an underexposed Jamaican producer!
