Earth Beat Movement - 70 BPM (Self-published)

Earth Beat Movement is centered around singer Irene 'MisTilla' Bisori, giving the band's music a feminine touch. '70 BPM' contains mostly infectious poppy new roots tunes, but for 'Pull Up' Earth Beat Movement even ventured into dancehall. The band only opts for their mother tongue once (the upbeat ska-tune 'Con Un Sorriso In Più'), which in our opinion is a pity. MissTilla's grasp of patois isn't' bad, but she slips up in 'Give Gratitude', pronouncing "gratitude" rather as "greytitude". An original track is 'Selfie', as far as we know the first reggae song about the worldwide phenomenon of taking self-portraits with a smartphone. For '70 BPM', Earth Beat Movement also invited two guests and both 'Heal Your Heart' with Jahcoustix and 'Beautiful Ladies' featuring Raphael, belong to the best songs in the track list.
