Little Roy - Right Now EP (Stingray Records)

The EP contains four tracks (three vocal cuts and one dub), each with a style and character of their own. Little Roy opens with the lovers rock ballad 'You've Made Me So Very Happy', originally a song by Blood, Sweat & Tears, but meanwhile also a reggae classic with versions by Barrington Levy, Mr Vegas and of course Alton Ellis preceding Little Roy's. 'Children Children' is a solid but lyrically quite simplistic song, but the real smash on 'Right Now' is the eponymous title track, for which Stingray-producer Carlton 'Dilly' McLeod seamlessly blended the horns of Ijahman's 'Moulding' with the riddim of the Wailing Souls-classic 'Very Well'.
