Verse iTal - Truth & Substance EP (MacLes Music Factory/Culture Rock Records)

Even though Trinidadian singjay Verse iTal (born Stefan Wilson) has already been musically active since 2008, his career really gained momentum after his victory at the most recent edition of the BeneluXXL Reggae Contest. Verse took the bull by the horns and together with MacLes Music Factory in Belgium and German-Austrian Culture Rock Records he recorded this seven track 'Truth & Substance' EP.

'Truth & Substance' is a perfect calling card: of course, a version over MacLes' Puff Puff riddim could not be absent (closing track 'Marathon'), but apart from that, the energetic title track 'Truth & Substance' and the solid ganja tune 'Never Hurt' should also not escape your attention. We wish Verse a prosperous musical future in Europe and if his next releases are of the same caliber as this EP, that shouldn't be a problem!
