Ti'Jips - J'fais Ma Part (Self-published/Keyzit)

Judging by the musicians (Faya Horns, Manjul, Bost & Bim, Nicodrum and Homegrown Band drummer Thomas Joint Lambert) and guest vocalists (Ras Shiloh, Derajah, Winston McAnuff) he managed to convince to lend a hand in this project, Ti'Jips enjoys the necessary respect in music circles. Ti'Jips may be of Antillean descent, the instrumentation (the balafon in 'Le Peuple Souffre', the kora in 'Jambe d'Lo') and the content of different songs ('Africa Ka Souffé', 'Mama Africa') make that 'J'fais Ma Part' rather has an African vibe. Just as was the case for Rod Anton & The Ligerians with 'Wevolution', for 'J'fais Ma Part' Ti'Jips' also drew on the parable of the hummingbird for inspiration, and if you look closely, you'll undoubtedly discover the tiny bird on the cover of the album. Excellent Euro-Afro-Caribbean production.
