I Kong - A Little Walk (Fruits Records)

Until now, that is, because Swiss band Najavibes (complemented with veterans like Noel 'Scully' Simms, Dalton Browne, Everol 'Stingwray' Ray and Eric 'Rico' Gaultier) rescued the veteran from oblivion and together they recorded 'A Little Walk'. The resulting album, mixed by Spanish producer Roberto Sanchez (A-Lone Productions), can only be described as an instant classic in the roots genre. For most tracks on 'A Little Walk' an excellent dub was also added (exceptions like 'Live As One' and 'Mysterious Way' are extended versions end in dub anyway), making this album sound even more like a long forgotten roots gem. Not that it really matters with this type of albums, but our favorites from the track list were the great 'Live As One' and the solid up-tempo track 'Groovy Feeling'. Top release deserving in any self-respecting roots lover's collection!
