Shades Of Black - Break Free (Sound Business)

Fox was born in London, from a Jamaican mother and an English father, but currently resides in Winchester, a small town just north of the port city of Southampton in the south of England. Paul also records solo, but together with singer/percussionist Jonah Dan (Bush Chemists) has been releasing work under the name Shades Of Black since the mid-1990s. Fox and Dan a lot of the vocals on 'Break Free' accounted for themselves, but also invited some guests to contribute. With ex-Black Uhuru vocalist Michael Rose (making an appearance on 'Break Free' with 'Lion In The Flag', a song with an intro that seems to have been plucked from the soundtrack to 'The X-Files') 2008 Fox already collaborated worked for the 2008 'Great Expectations' album, Jimmy Ranks is an MC from the entourage of Leicester based Word Sound & Power sound system and Belgian musical multitasker Saimn-I, with 'Got To Break Free' and 'Repent' even making a double appearance, hopefully needs no introduction. In showcase style 'Break Free' offers a vocal cut followed by a dub of each track. Extremely enjoyable UK dub/roots release!
