Suga Roy & Conrad Crystal - The Kings Book (Oneness Records)

For 'The Kings Book' Suga Roy & Conrad Crystal invited a number of guests, but the added value of their presence is not always clear. Successful exceptions are 'No Love' featuring Cocoa Tea and 'Run Come' with Alborosie. Amateurs of classic riddims won't find what they're looking for on 'The Kings Book', with 'Father Help Us All' being the one exception in the track list, as Suga Roy & Conrad Crystal dusted off Culture's 'Stop The Fussing And Fighting' for this tune. That being said, there are a few more recent riddims on the album: 'Roots Music' is a version over 2012's Rub A Dub Man riddim, a riddim yours truly still recognized from Pierodread's 'Turn Up The Radio', and for 'Never Give Up Jah' Suga Roy & Conrad Crystal used the Feel Good riddim we remembered from Gentleman and Rebellion The Recaller's 'Intensions'.
