Hornsman Coyote & Soulcraft - Hornsman Coyote & Soulcraft (Ammonite Records)

By Jah Rebel

Nemanja Koji?, better known by his stage name Hornsman Coyote, is a Serbian trombonist and vocalist.

In 1994 he formed Eyesburn. Playing a crossover of metal, hip-hop and reggae, this band soon drew the attention of Soulfly front man Max Cavalera. After more roots inclined solo work with Jerry Lions and Jah Rey, in 2013 Coyote joined forces with Soulcraft, a Serbian reggae band made up of ex-members of bands like Smoke 'N Soul and FC Apatride United. The result of this cooperation is 'Hornsman Coyote & Soulcraft', without any doubt the best trombone album since Rico Rodriguez' 'Man From Wareika' (Island Records, 1976). Vocally Hornsman Coyote doesn't do all that bad either and with guests like Lutan Fyah and Jah Mason lending a hand, that makes for one very strong album.
