In the aftermath of a troublesome childhood, Ramone Williams, better known as RAM1 aka. Di Roots-Yute, found refuge in both music (gospel & reggae) and the Christian faith. As his church background is clearly reflected in his sound, it´s no surprise he was nominated for a Mobo (Music Of Black Origin) award for "Best Gospel Act". The Riddim Culture Mix tape contains some tracks from his debut album '1 Way 1 Truth 1 Life' (May 2011) and a sneak preview of what his next full album will sound like.

As most artists with a gospel background, this sweet-voiced youngster can sing pretty well. The overall message is deeply Christian as nearly all songs are dedicated to Jesus, "The one and only King". Definitely worth checking out if you like the genre but probably a bit too sweet for hardcore dancehall fans.
