Gyamma - Unstoppable (Gyamma Music)

By Katrien Van der Aa

Yo Yoooo! Gyamma is a UK dancehall talent with Jamaican roots, which clearly reflects in his music. His style is versatile and he stands his ground both as a deejay and singjay with a toasting style which is at times reminiscent of Damian Marley. Gyamma clearly wants to deliver a message through his music, especially the good news, as his lyrics reflect a profound influence by the New Testament. All tracks on 'Unstoppable' are beautifully finished dancehall tracks but sometimes the overall flow is a bit hampered by an abundance of digital effects. The tracks based on simpler, more classic reggae riddims are therefore the best by far. Personal favourite of yours truly is the lovers tune 'Caribbeafrican'.
