It doesn´t happen every day that a rather unknown artist grabs our attention but the mixtape 'Bring Back The Love' by the young English artist Randy Valentine is clearly an exception. Valentine didn´t reinvent the wheel here but in this mixtape he brilliantly combines his slightly broken voice with his deejaying skills, all on classic riddims such as Stalag, Taxi, Lecturer, and Bobby Babylon. If the fresh, creatively constructed lyrics and high energy are an indication of what´s to come then we can only predict a promising future for the emerging singer. Randy Valentine, aka. RV, clearly positions himself in the roots camp, close to the origin of reggae as in 'Foundation' he sings: "As a selector, you can never go wrong, if you play me a record from the foundation". The remaining songs on this mixtape are dancehall songs like 'Light It Up' or 'Gallys Anthem', again on classic riddims. Love is also not forgotten as Valentine proves with the fantastic 'Poorman's Loving' or the very successful version of Bob Andy´s 'Too Experienced'.
