Glen Washington - The Right Road (Charm/Jet Star)

This unique vocalist grew up in Clarendon, JA and had his first breakthrough hit with 'Rockers Nuh Crackers', produced by Joe Gibbs (1976). Afterwards, he moved to Canada and made a worldwide solo-comeback with the release of his debut album 'Brother To Brother' in 1997. Since the mid-nineties, he had a lot of soulful hits like 'Jah Glory', 'Down Low', 'Kindness For Weakness', 'Number One Girl' and 'Open Your Eyes', which resulted in several music awards. The Right Road was recorded at studios in Hollywood and London, with the help of producer Danny Ray and engineer Fitz 'Wizard' Blake, using rootsy riddims (several classic reggae/rocksteady arrangements) that are being played by top musicians including Sly & Robbie, Jazwad, Mafia & Fluxy, Computer Paul and Carlton Bubblers. You will notice sweet & lovely backing vocals by Bev Brown, Don Campbell, Sharon White and Winston Francis, talking about harmony: yes. The vinyl edition contains 12 conscious and lovers rock tracks with good lyrics, sung with passion and providing some food for thought.
