For 'Where My Style Comes From', Daddy Cookiz joined forces with British producer and DJ Nathan Simm, better known as Simma, and fittingly the EP sees release through his SUPERCHIP imprint.
Sharing a passion for 8-bit digital reggae, the duo dusted off some of their favourite toys for the EP's four tracks and matching dubs, including the iconic Casio MT-40 and VL-1/VL-Tone keyboards, as well as the trusty Commodore 64 computer. Daddy Cookiz neatly sums it all up in lyrical form on the title track itself, while for 'Rub'a'Dub Love', the pair also invited Madrid's Ponchita Peligros; another artist with a shared love for the sound of eighties reggae. The EP's artwork, heavily nodding to the nineteen eighties and nineties, was also crafted by Cookiz himself. Excellent slice of eighties reggae nostalgia!
